DESCRIPTION
| Oak Ridge Financial Services was incorporated under the laws of the State of North Carolina. The Company was incorporated on March 2, 2007 and became a bank holding company on April 20, 2007 for Bank of Oak Ridge (the ‘Bank’). The Bank operates five full service branch offices in Oak Ridge, Summerfield, and Greensboro, North Carolina. The Bank operates for the main purpose of serving the banking needs of individuals, and small to medium-sized businesses in its market area. The Bank offers a range of banking services including checking and savings accounts, commercial, consumer and personal loans, mortgage services and other associated financial services. Its lending activities includes the general activities, commercial mortgage loan, construction loans, commercial loans, loans to individuals, home equity lines of credit and residential real estate loans. The securities portfolio generates a significant percentage of the Bank’s interest income and serves as a necessary source of liquidity and income. The Bank provides a range of deposit services, including non-interest bearing checking accounts, interest bearing checking and savings accounts, money market accounts and certificates of deposit. The Company competes against commercial banks, credit unions, savings and loan associations, mortgage banking firms, consumer finance companies, securities brokerage firms, insurance companies, money market funds and other mutual funds, as well as other local and community, super-regional, national and international financial institutions that operate offices in its market areas and elsewhere. The Company is subject to the regulations of various governmental agencies. |
