DESCRIPTION
| Seabridge Gold Inc., a British Columbia corporation was incorporated on September 4, 1979 under the name of Chopper Mines Ltd., which was subsequently changed to Dragoon Resources Ltd. on November 9, 1984, and then changed once more to Seabridge Resources Inc. on May 20, 1998. On June 20, 2002 the Company changed its name to Seabridge Gold Inc. It is a development stage company, which acquires and explores gold properties located in North America. The Company holds six properties with gold resources and its material properties are its KSM Project and its Courageous Lake Project. The KSM project is comprised of two contiguous claim blocks in the Iskut-Stikine region in British Columbia, approximately 20 kilometers southeast of the Eskay Creek Mine. The Courageous Lake project is an advanced gold project covering approximately 67,000 acres located in the Northwest Territories, Canada. The Company has a 100% interest in the project, subject to a 2% NSR on certain portions of the property. Geology of the Courageous Lake project is characterized by a series of north to northwest trending Archean metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks that form a portion of the Slave Structural Province. These rocks are within the Yellowknife Supergroup and are locally referred to as the Courageous Lake Greenstone Belt. The Company competes with other resource companies for exploration properties, joint venture agreements and for the acquisition of attractive gold companies. Its exploration operations are affected to varying degrees by government regulations relating to resource operations, the acquisition of land, pollution control and environmental protection, safety, production and expropriation of property. |
