| Diversicare Healthcare Services Inc, formerly Advocat Inc., provides long-term care services to nursing center patients in eight states, primarily in the Southeast and Southwest United States. The Company provides a range of long-term care services to the elderly, including skilled nursing, ancillary health care services and assisted living. The long-term care profession includes a range of non-institutional and institutional services. In addition to the nursing and social services usually provided in long-term care centers, it offers a variety of rehabilitative, nutritional, respiratory, and other specialized ancillary services. As of December 31, 2012, its continuing operations consisted of 48 nursing centers with 5,538 licensed nursing beds. Its nursing centers range in size from 48 to 320 licensed nursing beds. Effective September 1, 2012, the Company sold an owned skilled nursing center in Arkansas. |
