BP PLC operates as an integrated oil and gas company and is the parent company of the BP group of companies. The Company has three reportable segments: Upstream, Downstream and TNK-BP. Upstream’s activities include oil and natural gas exploration, field development and production, midstream transportation, storage and processing and the marketing and trading of natural gas, including liquefied natural gas, together with power and natural gas liquids. The segment is organized into three functional divisions; Exploration, Developments and Production. Downstream’s activities include the refining, manufacturing, marketing, transportation, and supply and trading of crude oil, petroleum, petrochemicals products and related services to wholesale and retail customers and segment TNK-BP is a major Russian oil company, which owns upstream and downstream assets.
