(LGI) is an international provider of video, broadband Internet and telephony services, with broadband communications and/or direct-to-home satellite (DTH) operations, As of December 31, 2011, the Company was serving 19.5 million customers across 13 countries, primarily in Europe and Chile. Its European and Chilean operations are conducted through its 99.6%-owned subsidiary, Liberty Global Europe Holding BV (Liberty Global Europe). Through Liberty Global Europe's wholly owned subsidiary, UPC Holding BV (UPC Holding), the Company provides video, broadband Internet and telephony services in nine European countries and in Chile.On September 16, 2011, a subsidiary of UPC Holding acquired a 100% equity interest in Aster Sp. z.o.o. (Aster). On December 15, 2011, UPC Germany HoldCo 2 GmbH (UPC Germany HC2) acquired all of the outstanding shares of Kabel BW Musketeer GmbH (KBW Musketeer). Effective March 28, 2013, the Company acquired a 12.65% interest in Ziggo BV. |
