|LG Display Co., Ltd. was incorporated in 1985 under the laws of the Republic of Korea under the name of LG Soft, Ltd. On March 3, 2008, the Company changed its name to LG Display Co., Ltd. The Company is an innovator of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display, or TFT-LCD technology, and other display panel technologies, including organic light-emitting display, or OLED, and flexible display products. It manufactures display panels in a range of sizes and specifications mainly for use in televisions, notebook computers, desktop monitors and mobile products. It is also a supplier of high-definition television panels. It also manufactures TFT-LCD panels for other application products, such as mobile phones, including certain types of mobile phones commonly referred to as ‘smartphones’, certain types of tablet computers and industrial and other applications, including entertainment systems, automotives, portable navigation devices and medical diagnostic equipment. The Company manufactures TFT-LCD panels of various specifications that are integrated by its customers into mainly the following products: Televisions, which typically utilize large-size display panels ranging from 15 inches to 84-inches in size, including full high-definition television panels; Notebook computers, which typically utilize display panels ranging from 7 inches to 20.1-inches in size, including certain types of tablet computer. Desktop monitors, which typically utilize large-size display panels ranging from 15 inches to 30-inches in size and Other applications, which utilize an array of display panel sizes, ranging from small-size display panels, including handheld application products such as mobile phones, to medium- and large-size display panels, including industrial applications such as entertainment systems, portable navigation devices, e-paper, digital photo displays and medical diagnostic equipment. The Company’s sales are conducted through its multi-channel sales and distribution network, including direct sales to end-brand customers and their system integrators, sales through its overseas subsidiaries and sales through its affiliated trading company, LG International, and its subsidiaries. Its main competitors in the industry include Samsung Display. Hydis Technologies, AU Optronics, Innolux, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, HannStar Display, BOE, China Star Optolectronics Technology, Japan Display, Sharp and Panasonic LCD.|
