DESCRIPTION
Radian Group Inc. was incorporated as a business corporation under the laws of the State of Delaware since 1991.The Company, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, provides credit-related insurance coverage and financial services to mortgage lenders and other financial institutions. It currently has two business segments—mortgage insurance and financial guaranty. The mortgage insurance segment provides credit-related insurance coverage, principally through private mortgage insurance, and risk management services to mortgage lending institutions. The mortgage operations are carried out through Radian Guaranty Inc., its principal mortgage insurance subsidiary. Financial guaranty segment previously offered direct insurance and reinsurance on credit-based risks, and also offered credit protection on various asset classes through financial guarantees and credit default swaps.
