It manufactures its firearm products at its facilities in Springfield, Massachusetts and Houlton, Maine. It plan to continue to offer products that leverage the 160 year old “Smith & Wesson” brand and capitalize on the goodwill developed through its historic American tradition by expanding consumer awareness of products it produce. In addition, it pursues opportunities to license its name and trademarks to third parties for use in association with their products and services. The Company sells its products and services through a variety of distribution channels. Its competitors are Ruger and Taurus in the revolver market and Beretta, Glock, Heckler & Koch, Ruger, Sig Sauer, and Springfield Armory in the pistol market. The Company competes with Bushmaster, Rock River, Stag Arms, and DPMS in the modern sporting rifle market; and Browning, Marlin, Remington, Ruger, Savage, Weatherby, CVA, Traditions, and Winchester in the hunting rifle market. It is regulated by the ATF, which licenses the manufacture and sale of firearms.|
