DESCRIPTION
| Endeavour International Corp was incorporated under the laws of the state of Nevada on January 13, 2000. It is an independent oil and gas company, which is engaged in the production, exploration, development and acquisition of crude oil and natural gas in the U.S. and U.K. The Company’s operations are organized into two main geographic regions as follows: the U.K. North Sea and U.S. onshore. As of December 31, 2012, its estimated proved reserves were 25.7 MMBOE, up 13% from 22.7 MMBOE as of December 31, 2011, of which approximately 90% were located in the U.K. and approximately 10% were located in the U.S. U.K. proved reserves increased by 10.7 MMBOE from 2011 to 2012; however, this increase was offset by a decrease in U.S. reserves of 7.8 MMBOE, primarily as a result of lower U.S. natural gas prices. The Company operates in one industry segment, that being oil and gas exploration and production, in two geographical areas. The Company encounters intense competition from other oil and gas companies in all areas of its operations, including the acquisition of producing properties and undeveloped acreage. Its competitors include major integrated oil and gas companies, numerous independent oil and gas companies and individuals. The Company’s operations are subject to stringent federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to environmental protection, as well as controlling the manner in which various substances, including wastes generated in connection with oil and gas industry operations, are released into the environment. |
