DESCRIPTION
| KongZhong Corporation is a provider of WVAS and mobile games to mobile phone users and a wireless media company providing news, content, community and mobile advertising services through its wireless Internet sites in the PRC. The Company provides interactive entertainment, media and community services to mobile phone users through 2G technology platforms, including SMS, IVR and CRBT, and through 2.5G technology and operating platforms, including WAP, MMS and Java(tm). KongZhong delivers a range of services that users can access directly from their mobile phones, by using its access code or by choosing an icon or a game pre-loaded in select models of handsets; from a telecommunications operator’s portal or website; and from its wireless Internet websites. The Company's services are organized in three categories, consisting of: Interactive entertainment services which includes mobile games, karaoke, electronic books and mobile phone personalization features, such as ringtones, wallpaper, icons, clocks and calendar; Media services which provides content such as domestic and international news, entertainment, sports, fashion, lifestyle and other interest areas and Community services which includes interactive chat, message boards, dating and networking. The Company delivers its 2.5G services mainly to users of mobile phones that either are based on the global system for mobile communication, or GSM, standard and utilize GPRS, technology or are based on the CDMA standard and utilize CDMA 1x technology, in both cases through the WAP, MMS and Java(tm) technology platforms. KongZhong provides its WAP services mainly over China Mobile's GPRS networks. The Company has established distribution arrangements with mobile handset manufacturers, including Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Lenovo, Sony Ericsson, Jin Tongxin, Guangli Technical, Shenzhen Taisida, Youxinda, Amoi and other major international and domestic handset manufacturers. |
