DESCRIPTION
| ARMOUR Residential REIT Inc is an externally-managed Maryland corporation organized in 2008, managed by ARMOUR Residential Management LLC. It invests mainly in hybrid adjustable rate, adjustable rate and fixed rate residential mortgage backed securities issued or guaranteed by a U.S. Government-chartered entity, such as the Federal National Mortgage Association and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, or guaranteed by the Government National Mortgage Administration, a U.S. Government corporation. From time to time, a portion of its portfolio may be invested in unsecured notes and bonds issued by U.S. Government-chartered entities, U.S. Treasuries and money market instruments, subject to certain income tests it must satisfy for its qualification as a real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company seeks attractive long-term investment returns by investing its equity capital and borrowed funds in its targeted asset class. The Company competes with mortgage REITs, mortgage finance and specialty finance companies, savings and loan associations, banks, mortgage bankers, insurance companies, mutual funds, institutional investors, investment banking firms, other lenders, governmental bodies and other entities. |
